Articles by Dartes Swimmers Past and Present
Every now and again, someone pops up out of the deep end and writes an article for the website.
Sometimes these are former Dartes swimmers with happy memories to share.
Often they're current members with something special or interesting to shout about.
Either way, if it's interesting and in some way connected to Dartes or Doncaster Swimming, we'll probably publish it.

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro
Introduction
She might be away at University but here at Dartes we have fond memories of
Cherelle McPherson (Adw).
Having trained in our squads for many years she was a key member of the team that won the North East Division 1 title of the National Speedo League in 2005.
Before Christmas she informed us of her intention to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for charity and we told her that we'd be more than happy to help publicise her expedition. So here she is to tell you all about it.

Cherelle to Climb Mount Kilimanjaro for Childreach International
On July 3rd 2010 I will be going to Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Kili, as it is affectionately known, is the world's largest free standing mountain at 5895m (19,340ft). Just imagine climbing a mountain that rises up towards the sky as high as the distance covered in one of your training sessions.
This is in aid of the charity Childreach International which supports children and youths who are living in poverty.
I'm sure many of you will have seen a similar climb by Chris Moyles and a host of other celebrities last year and seen/heard how challenging it is. 4,000 people attempt this climb each year, yet only around 1,400 actually reach the summit!
It will be a very challenging 10 day trip and I would greatly appreciate any support that my friends at Dartes and swimming in general would like to donate. If you would like to sponsor me I've set up the special page below.
