Yorkshire Masters Team A trio of DARTES swimmers have been selected for the Yorkshire Masters team who will be competing in the annual ASA Inter County Masters competition on 21st Nov at the Hydro, Harrogate. The swimmers are: Kev Nicholas, Allistair Davies, Dave Cuthbert 6/7th Nov - NEC Short Course Bagcat Championships Seven DARTES swimmers competed in the NECASA Bagcat Short Course Champs held at the Hydro, Harrogate. There were several top 8 finishes: Silver - Chantal Aldridge 13 Yrs 100m Breast 5th - Laura Hirst 10 Yrs 200m Back 5th - James Carthew 14 Yrs 100m Breast 7th - Chantal Aldridge 13 Yrs 200m Free 7th - Jerome Hizzert 11 Yrs 100m Breast For the swimmers results, Click Here Congratulations to Chantal Aldridge who achieved a National Qualifying Time in the 100m Breast. 21st Nov - Inter County Masters DARTES swimmers Kev Nicholas, Allistair Davies and Dave Cuthbert all competed for the Yorkshire team in the annual ASA Inter County Masters competition held at the Hydro, Harrogate. The DARTES swimmers helped Yorkshire to victory in the Regional round of the competition beating arch rivals Lancashire: 1st - Yorkshire - 285 points 2nd - Lancashire - 239 points 3rd - Northumberland & Durham - 160 points 4th - Cheshire - 158 points In the National standings Yorkshire improved one place on last years performance finishing second overall: 1st - Warwickshire - 1335 points 2nd - Yorkshire - 1228.5 points 3rd - Sussex - 1206.5 points 4th - Lancashire - 1182.5 points 27th Nov - Sheffield City B Grade Two DARTES swimmers competed in the Sheffield City B Grade Meet held at Ponds Forge: The swimmers were Finlay Davison and Louise Newton who both won gold medals at the meet. Yorkshire Representation The following four DARTES swimmers have been selected to represent Yorkshire in the English schools finals: Katie Johnson - 200m Medley Lizzy Bevens - 100m Breast James Bevens - 100m Free Chantal Aldridge - 100m Breast Also Kev Nicholas has been selected as a member of the Yorkshire Masters team to compete in the annual ASA Inter County Masters competition 25th Sept - Coventry Sprints Two of the young up and coming swimmers from DARTES competed in the City of Coventry Sprints Gala (Long Course). They were Max Litchfield and Laura Hirst who both won 4 Golds and a Silver in the 9 Years age groups. 6/7th Mar - Yorkshire Age Group Champs Good performances in the first gala of this years Yorkshire Age Group Championships see DARTES swimmers claiming 3 Bronze medals: Bronze - Laura Hirst 200m Free Bronze - Laura Hirst 200m Medley Bronze - Keiran Purchase 400m Free These two swimmers also made 4th place finishes, Laura in the 200m Fly and Keiran in the 200m Free. Richard Brown also made two top eight finishes coming 6th in the 200m Fly & 8th in the 200m Free. *PB's Statistics:* 18 swimmers competed 38 separate DARTES entries 31 PB's which makes a 82% Improvement Rate (Statistics provided by Dennis Buxton based on current information) 12 Mar - Yorkshire Schools Championships For the second year running the Doncaster team finished as overall Yorkshire Schools Champions. A team of 40 swimmers competed beating other teams from Rotherham, Leeds, Hull and Wakefield in a hard contested gala.
