Photo Gallery: Yorkshire Champs 2010

After a fantastic 2009 campaign where we came home as Most Improved Club we weren't expecting to be in the running to capture the same trophy again, two years on the trot.

Superb performances over the 3 weekends however, meant we were right up there challenging (actually leading at the start of the 3rd weekend). We just missed out in the end, but it was fun while it lasted.

The new range of Dartes Beechwear.

After another Gold medal winning performance we dressed Mark up ready for the catwalk. Alas, he refused to step up on the podium in his new outfit so we had to snap him on deck instead.

The Loud and Proud.

This would have looked even better with the big Loud and Proud banner in the background, but Mr T again pulled out the stops with another surprise for this meet.

You can expect to see the new mini-banners at meets in the future.
They were Loud and very Proud
The Reinforcements Arrived.

The morning support team was replaced at lunch time on Sunday with the afternoon team. Note the bass section at the back with the banging tubes.

And don't miss Cris Lewis going wild with a clap banner in the middle.
Afternoon Reinforcements
And this, ladies and gentlemen of the Loud and Proud, is what you look like to us poor souls on the poolside. Keep up your fine work, but next time you all need to be wearing your team shirts!
The 11years Boys BAGCAT winners.

It's a three way rivalry we look forward to and always enjoy.

City of Leeds' Blake, always quick to chat when he's winning, was a little quiet during sprints weekend. Our very own Joe and Jarvis came away with 3 of the 4 Golds and 2 of the 4 Silvers on offer. Reece also grabbed a Bronze.

In the end, Blake picked up the BAGCATS award. Joe was runner up and Kirklees' William T in 3rd. Well done boys, exciting battles between the three of you this year as usual.
The 11yrs Boys BAGCATS
The older boys didn't disappoint either.

With Elliot T in the younger age group for Yorkshires we pulled Matthew Harrison in to the 15/16 years team.

A couple of exciting races ensued which we will be happy to show you on Dartes TV later in the week.
Exciting 15/16 years team
Last year they won 1 of the 2 Gold medals on offer at the Yorkshire Team Championships.

This year they came back with both, after demolishing the competition and winning by a mile.

Double Gold Medal Winners
Another of our medal winning girls teams: the 10 year olds.

Ashleigh, Tyler, Phoebe, and Finleigh did us proud to come home with the Bronze medal in the Medley.

Bronze Medal in the Medley
One better for the boys.

Oswald, Josh, Mark, and Big Ben claim Silver in the 10 years Medley.

Silver Medal in the Medley
A fine 50m Butterfly sprint saw Phoebe driving her dad wild in the crowd on the way to a Gold medal.

We're not sure whether he was happy with the performance, or terrified at the prospect of keeping the trophy polished and shiny for the next 12 months.

You can watch Phoebe's Gold Medal winning performance on Dartes TV.
Phoebe Takes the Gold
It's fair to say that Rebecca surprised most of us during the three weeks of Yorkshires.

Two Bronze medals (100m and 200m Breaststroke) to go with this Silver medal in the 50m Sprint.

She has a lot of work to do if she's going to improve on that medal haul next year.

Kelsey sneaked into the Bronze medal position in the sprint too - well done girls.
Rebecca and Kelsey in the Sprint medals
And another shiny trophy for the mantelpiece.

Ashleigh took the Backstroke sprint by storm and then followed up in the Medley team too. Another winning Backstroker to keep the Dartes tradition alive.
Ashleigh wins Backstroke
Luke and his BAGCAT award.

Considering 2010 saw Luke win his first ever Yorkshire medals, 3rd place in the BAGCATs award is pretty good going.

Well done Mr Phelps!
Luke came 3rd in BAGCATs
A lesson for small swimmers everywhere ...

... Sooner or later our girls will beat you ;-)

City of Leeds' Amy Light does her usual fine job of pushing our girl into the minor medals (this time Jess gets Silver and Caitlin the Bronze in 50m Fly).

One day, one day.
Silver and Bronze for Jess and Caitlin
Another Freestyle medal for Elliot, this time in the 50m sprint.

He also managed Bronze in the 800m.
Freesyle medals for Elliot
Our Breaststrokers did pretty well all told.

Here's Reece with another of our skip full of Bronze medals.
Reece wins one of many Dartes Bronze
Yikes!

The happy smiling faces of the younger element of the team.
Scarey, but happy
