Minster Meet, 2011

As a way of saying thank you to all those involved in running our series of meets, here's a few of those involved in Minster 2011. There were of course, a great many officials poolside: referees, judges, time keepers, but it's not easy getting the camera on deck. Needless to say, if you're not posing below but were busy doing the work poolside, a big thank you and pat on the back to each and every one of you too.

We like to make our meets a little show biz, but honestly Mr T, the shades are a touch too far!

How can we run meets without this bunch. Things just wouldn't be the same.
- Meet Organiser: Mr T
- Officials Organiser: Mrs Crow
- Generally Everything: Mr Litch
- Whatever Needs Doing: Mr Smith
(Those might not be their official job roles).

A big, big thank you to all those Men and Women poolside in white!
Chairman Chris joins in the showbiz theme with the shades. It must have been a sunny day in Beverley.

Does he look a little stressed to you?

Running meets is very, very hard work, but oh so satisfying at the end of the day. Poor Chris looses a little more hair each year though, so more of you should get involved next time so he can relax a little.
Role Reversal. Two of 2010's National Squad distributing fruit among the hard working officials.

They won't be swimming this weekend so Caitlin and Heidi get to experience the other side of swim meets - helping to run one.
Watering Time

We spoil our officials. Fruit slices and copious amounts of soft drinks. All delivered by the biggest smiles we can find - here's Rebecca.
We were told in no uncertain terms that we weren't to publish this photo!

What more motivation did we need.

His kids might have grown old and run off to University, but Dangerous Dan wouldn't miss Minster. Yes, that's a vintage Cyprus 2007 chaperone shirt he's wearing!
Hey!!!
Stop plundering the prizes you two.
Our meets aren't just thrown together on the day you know.

Here's Mr T over seeing preparations the night before from his vantage point atop the lifeguard chair. Grace pops along to offer her expert opinion too.

Is it time for the midnight pizza yet?
It's our 4th Minster Meet and this guy's helped at all of them. He keeps on popping back and we're very grateful he does. Who else is brave enough to play MC for the day?

Thanks Jim (and Alex).
He's a pirate (with two eye patches)! We need to get him a parrot to sit on his shoulder for next time.

Here's Mr T guarding the treasure with Amanda keeping him under control.
Playing their part.

A table full of awards attended by the girls of Phase 4 and 5.
Jamie keeps his assistants in check on the book stall.

For those people who prefer not to shout and cheer at the tops of their voices all day, pop downstairs and buy a book to read. We like to cater for all types of supporters at our meets.
Masters and Apprentices.

Donna and Kate train up the next generation of meet organisers behind the scenes. Great fun, isn't it girls?
As if this face needs a poolside pass!

A meet without Pete in the building just isn't a proper swim meet. Every event needs the Litchfield seal of approval.
The Nerve Centre.

Technical genius Cris makes sure everything runs smoothly. Ably assisted by Max and not-so-little Troff, this trio keep the scoreboard up to date, feed the announcer with fresh results, and print the speeding tickets for any super sprinters earning one.
Hard at work.

No one announces at meets like Jim does, and it looks like Alex is being trained up to take over the reigns. A family tradition perhaps.
More family traditions.

The Clarke family taking care of the book store. Jamie must have fled when he spied the woman with the camera stalking near by.
A family day out.

With Grace helping Mr T and Max a key part of Team Technical, here's Joe entertaining the girls.
Chairman's message: At the end of the day ...

... Running meets is huge fun :-)
